It feels like I should start thinking about what I want to be "when I grow up", and my lack of enthusiasm for anything media related seems to be a bit of a problem, especially in our "jobs in the media" module at Uni.
I have no idea what I want to do. Nothing with too much stress or pressure. Ideally i'd like to sit in my little cubicle in an office (or, ambitiously, a nice big desk with one of those tiny sand pits Ren recently told me about) and type out invoices/answer phones. I could wear lovely little office outfits and learn to tolerate those who work in cubicles (or nice big desks) surrounding mine, making a reasonable wage and spending most of the day on twitter (or whatever's the trendy internet networking thing at that time), dreaming about when my life went a little bit naff.
Why aim high? It's better to expect the worse then be pleasantly surprised. Besides it doesn't really feel worth getting unpaid work experience at various media outlets just to look good to my lecturers, espescially when I should really be concentrating my efforts on finding a part time paid job so I can you know.... eat and that. And get the real experience I need. Retail experience. For my future career as a checkout girl at the Morrison's in Gosport.
